Hey everyone.. Hope your weekends been great! Here's some of my April favorites - a few have been favorites for longer than a month :)
I won this when Dermalogica did a Pinterest contest last summer.... At $48, I wouldn't repurchase this but it is a great primer. It has a menthol scent which may not be enjoyable to some but I don't mind it. It helps even out my skin tone a little bit and the spf is a plus.
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation... Medium to full coverage, I'd definitely say it's buildable.. It feels like you have nothing on and the lasting power is nice - not as great as Revlon's Colorstay but it also doesn't feel like you have a mask on, like Colorstay tends to :)
*I wouldn't recommend this for dry skin.. It tends to cling to dry patches.
On days I want more coverage, I'll mix Colorstay & this. I've been loving these two together.
As always, my setting powder: Rimmel's Stay Matte.. The best pressed powder in my opinion. I absolutely love this and always keep a backup. It gives an airbrushed finish when used to set your foundation and never looks cakey. I have the shade translucent.
I've been loving e.l.f. blushes lately.. The top is Candid Coral, the right is Mellow Mauve, and left is Pink Passion.
Top to bottom: Mellow Mauve, Candid Coral, Pink Passion.
Candid Coral & Mellow Mauve aren't very pigmented so I like to use these as bases to add more dimension.. (I am big into layering makeup - blush, mascara, concealer).. They both have some shimmer and in the packaging almost look too shimmery but it doesn't translate as much on the skin and they give a beautiful glow. I love throwing one of these on when I'm not wearing much makeup for a light flush of color.
Pink Passion is very pigmented. It's powdery but that doesn't bother me (especially not for $3!) - use a light hand with this one! It's a gorgeous color, vibrant and perfect for spring & summer.
I recently picked up e.l.f.'s eyebrow kit and I've used it every day since. The right is a brow gel and the left a brow powder.. This is in the shade medium so the brow powder is too light for me but this was the only shade they had at my Target... The brow gel is great, and I love that it has some color to it. Instead of the brow powder in this duo, I use NYX's matte shadow in Betrayal after I apply this brow gel.. Which leads me to my next favorite! :)
I love this for my brows as well as for a crease color. It's more of a cool toned brown, the pigmentation is great. I definitely want to pick up more of these matte shades from NYX.
Oh, the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette.. Now, I am a HUGE Urban Decay fan.. They are definitely one of my absolute favorites so I knew the quality would be top notch. But when this was first released, I didn't think I'd bother getting it.. I have both Naked 1 & 2 and it looks so simple.... I was sure I had these shades in a ton of other palettes... I went into Ulta a few months later and swatched these and fell in love... For only $27, I figured why not.. You can't have enough matte shades, right? I figured I'd just use this randomly, or end up using it in my kit.... Well, I have worn this almost every day I wear makeup since I purchased it. There are SO many looks you can do with this little baby. True to UD form, they are creamy and so pigmented. I adore this palette and I love how tiny it is. The packaging is perfect and it travels really well.
Another tiny little baby :) I'm a chapstick junkie, I always have them laying around.. But I'm pretty picky so I was surprised with how much I enjoy this. It lasts a really long time for being so small. It's a thick formula, it reminds me of Carmex except smells much better.
My go to lip combo.... Revlon's Pink Pout and Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Peach Petal. No words for how much I love these two. I always have them with me.
Pink Pout is one of their matte formulas. It isn't drying, very pigmented. This is a cool toned pink.
Very pigmented for a gloss. Not sticky.
My favorite setting spray.. Works so well and it doesn't break me out...... Does anyone else kind of hate this new packaging?.. It gets dirty so quickly!
Not beauty related but.... Oh... Go smell this! I call it 'The sexy man candle'
Nothing skin care related this month. I'm trying a few new products so I want to use them for a while before I give my opinion! :)
