Skin Care Sunday! Dermalogica:

Hey darlings! How was your weekend?

I wanted to do a quick review on two Dermalogica products... For those of you who aren't familiar with the brand, Dermalogica is a moderately priced skin care line (available at Ulta) that makes great quality products for every skin type. They have so many amazing products and the two I wanted to review for you today are aimed toward oily skin types:

The Dermal Clay Cleanser:

What it says on the bottle, "A skin-perfecting formula designed to provide deep-cleansing to oily, congested skin. Water-soluble Kaolin and Green Clays combine with purifying extracts of Sambucus, Ivy and Lemon to remove excess oils and refine the skin's texture. Calming Cucumber and Sage soothe, while refreshing Menthol revitalizes even the most tired skin. Contains no artificial fragrance or color."

It's a pale mint green color with a very creamy and semi-thick consistency. You dampen your face with water, then gently massage this in. Once it comes in contact with water, the consistency thins out a bit..

Warning - morning face:

This feels extremely cooling on the skin, and slightly tingly. I love using this in the morning because between the cooling sensation and the menthol scent, it helps wake me up quite a bit. Even after you wash this off, there is a pleasant cool feeling left over for a while so it's also nice on those hot summer days. Your skin feels super refreshed, without feeling tight or dry afterwards. This  is great for oily or combination skin - clay based products are amazing for removing excess oil.

For the 1.7 oz travel size - $9.50

8.4 oz - $35 (the size shown in picture above)

16.9 oz - $52

The bigger sizes are pretty pricey but you only need about a nickel sized amount per use so it will last you for a long time.

The next product is the Active Moist moisturizer, on the bottle it says:

"A lightweight, oil-free lotion for daily moisture protection that actively combats surface dehydration. Sheer, easy-to-apply formula contains Silk Amino Acids and a unique combination of plant extracts that help smooth and improve the skin's texture. Natural botanical astringents of Lemon, Cucumber and Burdock help to refine the skin. Contains no artificial fragrance or color."

I love that this doesn't contain artificial fragrances, as they can effect both acne prone and sensitive skin. It's a very lightweight moisturizer, so I would only recommend this for oily skin or combination skin. However, if you have combination skin that tends to dry out from time to time or get dry patches in areas, I'd recommend using this in the AM and a slightly more hydrating moisturizer for nighttime.

I love that this doesn't feel greasy and it isn't heavy on my skin afterwards. There is a slight scent but it's pleasant and smells more on the natural side rather than floral or artificial.

1.7 oz - $38

3.4 oz - $56
