Clean & Clear - Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer Review:

"But in the garden of simple, where all of us are nameless - you were never anything but beautiful to me."

- Ani DiFranco

Hey beauties!

Quick review today for you guys of one of Clean & Clear's newer products from the Morning Burst line - the Hydrating Gel Moistuizer.. I believe there was also a cleanser that came out with this but I find better results with their moisturizers rather than the cleansers so I was excited to try this one out!

** A little skin care tip, "gel" products - whether they are cleansers or moisturizers - are usually geared more towards combo to oily skin. Cream products are for dry, gel are for combo to oily! Just some keywords to look for when shopping for your skin type :)

--- This one is geared towards all skin types! ---

c1This costs from around $5.49 (Target & Walmart) to $6.99 (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc.)

"This ultra-lightweight, non-greasy moisturizer wakes you up and leaves skin feeling immediately replenished. It's formulated with water, not oil, and contains a unique blend of cucumber and green mango extracts. For clean-feeling and refreshed skin, use this facial moisturizer daily.

Skin type: All"

First, let's check out the ingredients...

Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polyacrylamide, Cetearyl Olivate, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethiconol, Sorbitan Olivate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Fragrance, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Carbomer, Laureth-7, Methylparaben, Propylene Glycol, C12-14 Pareth-12, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Green 5, Blue 1, Yellow 5

Remember, the most abundant are at the top of the list and the amount of each ingredient decreases as you go down the line.

The most abundant ingredient in here is water... Pretty common for a first ingredient.

Dimethicone, Glycerine, and Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer are all silicones, which helps your skin retain and keep moisture in, as well as slightly smoothes uneven texture.

Polyacrylamide is a bonding agent (helps bond the ingredients together)

Cetearyl Olivate is an emulsifier, it helps bond the ingredients as well as helps retains moisture.

Phenoxyethanol is a preservative.

I won't go through every single ingredient, these are the most abundant (they get somewhat repetitive as you go down the list)... As you can see, the claims on Mango and Cucumber extract are very exaggerated, they are very low on the list so I can only assume there isn't much in this product.. In fact, fragrance is a lot more abundant, unfortunately.

Overall, the ingredients are typical for a moisturizer. Nothing concerning, it will moisturize any skin type. I even used this when my skin was very dry from a reaction to another product and it helped a lot.

c2Here you can see the gel consistency

c3It's very lightweight and quickly blends and sinks into the skin. It feels very nice and refreshing,

There is a watermelon candy type scent to this. Quite strong, it doesn't bother me but with a product that fragranced, there is a possibility it will irritate sensitive skin types.

I've been using this moisturizer for about a week now and I enjoy it so far. I haven't had an issue with it breaking me out and it has absolutely kept my skin nice and moisturized! If you have very dry skin, I would suggest trying a cream, oil based moisturizer over a gel, however if you have normal to oily, I think this could work great for you.

I give it a thumbs up :)
