Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil Review:

"You don't need anyone's affection or approval in order to be good enough. When someone rejects or abandons or judges you, it isn't actually about you. It's about them and their own insecurities, limitations and needs, and you don't have to internalize that. Your worth isn't contingent upon other people's acceptance of you - it's something inherent. You exist and therefore, you matter. You're allowed to voice your thoughts and feelings. You're allowed to assert your needs and take up space. You're allowed to hold onto the truth that who you are is exactly enough. And you're allowed to remove anyone from your life who makes you feel otherwise."

Hello beauties!! In April I hauled a few things from Sephora and was really excited to try out Boscia's Tsubaki Beauty Oil..

btAs my regular readers know, I have very acne prone skin and am always on the hunt for new skin care products that I can recommend. After hearing quite a few people raving about this, I had to try it out!

*This is geared towards normal to dry skin types*

ah5The packaging is absolutely perfect! The box is adorable and the bottle the oil comes in is glass. I love sitting this on my vanity! Finally skin care packaging that isn't a total eyesore!

On the box,

"An anti-aging botanical blend of cold-pressed Tsubaki (Camelia) Oil and protein rich Wakame (Japanese Sea Kelp), both of which provide serious protection against free radical damage. Hydrates and replenishes, leaving skin smoother, softer and more supple. Helps prevent premature signs of aging by defending the skin against free radical damage."

The ingredients in this are absolutely fantastic. No preservatives, no chemicals - absolutely all healthy wonderful ingredients!!

Taken off Sephora's Website:

"Tsubaki (Camellia) oil has been an essential part of Japanese beauty rituals for centuries. Japanese women, well-known for their flawless skin, would traditionally nourish and protect their skin with native Tsubaki oil, which is naturally fast-absorbing, hypoallergenic, and always non-comedogenic. In addition to its potent skincare benefits, Camellia oil is responsible for the iconic smoothness of the geisha and samurai hairstyles of the past.

Camellia oil is harvested from the Shizuoka region of Japan - a short distance from Yokahama, the birthplace of boscia, where the coastal fog causes camellias to grow extremely slowly, concentrating the antioxidants and aromas. The flowers and leaves are steam-dried, which produces camellia oil by cold pressing the seeds and preserving the tremendous skin protection and antiaging benefits found in our formula.

Research results: After 4 weeks of use: - 83% reported an improvement in skin moisturization - 83% reported their skin looked and felt smoother - 78% reported their skin was more hydrated"

bt3It comes with a dropper, you only need maybe 2-3 drops for your entire face... There are 50mL/1.7 fl oz.

My first impression?.... This oil is so lightweight! It's not thick or heavy at all, it quickly sinks into the skin and leaves you feeling so hydrated without that greasy feeling many heavier oils can leave behind. It's light enough to wear under makeup, which is super impressive.

As I stated above, this oil is for normal to dry skin types, however I have combination skin and I haven't had any issues. I've been using this regularly since I purchased it and I absolutely love it. I prefer to use it at night, it's a little too much for me to use twice a day but that's no surprise considering it's not geared toward my skin type. It hasn't caused any breakouts and I've definitely seen and felt an improvement in the texture and hydration of my skin.

I really recommend this for anyone with normal to dry skin types as well as for anyone with combination to oily, but I'd just use it less often. Maybe once a day or a few times a week, try it out and see how your skin reacts!

Overall, I have no complaints at all about this. The ingredients are phenomenal, I've seen an improvement in my skin and although it's more of a high end purchase at $46, you need such a tiny amount per use that this bottle will last you forever. It totally pays for itself!

You can purchase the Tsubaki Beauty Oil at Sephora or on Boscia's website for $46.
