"Being tender and open is beautiful. As a woman, I feel continually shh'ed. Too sensitive. Too mushy. Too wishy washy. Blah, blah. Don't let someone steal your tenderness. Don't allow the coldness and fear of others to tarnish your perfectly vulnerable beating heart. Nothing is more powerful than allowing yourself to truly be affected by things. Whether it's a song, a stranger, a mountain, a rain drop, a tea kettle, an article, a sentence, a footstep, feel it all - look around you. All of this is for you. Take it and have gratitude. Give it and feel love." - Zooey Deschanel
Hello beauties! Recently I was sent a beauty box for review and I'm really excited to show you guys because it's not one that is very well known and it's pretty unique!
It's called a Memebox - pronounced Mi-mi - the #1 beauty box provider in Korea. Recently they started shipping to the US and 45 other countries as well.
What's really exciting about this is, the products you are getting are from Korea; many of the product's are in other languages. So you aren't getting typical US products you expect from the other beauty boxes.
This is slightly different from other boxes as this isn't really a subscription box. Instead, you go on their website and if there is a box you are interested in, you can purchase it. There are a ton of different themed boxes to choose from! They come with 4-8 full size products and deluxe sized samples.
For review, each blogger got sent a random box... Of course, I was hoping for one makeup related but unfortunately I received what is called a Scent Box (mine is Scent Box #2 if you are looking for it on the website). I believe this is one of their themed boxes, and this one is Baby Powder.
It shipped insanely quickly, within a few days! I was really impressed.
Same as other beauty boxes, you receive a card on type with information on the products included. However, with this box you are going to want to hold onto this card... Because many as I said before, most of the product packaging is in Korean.
Excuse the big splotch of nail polish on my vanity. I really should not paint my nails on that anymore LOL
The description says, "Mimi Lauryne's Perfume Soap series are 100% natural, hand-made soap bars infused with a high concentration of powdery, floral fragrance. With its key formula based on natural ingredients such as shea butter, olive oil, centella, asiatica, and coconut milk, this all-organic soap is especially recommended for sensitive skin types.
How to use: Suitable for both facial and body use."
This is a full size product that costs $18.
I haven't used any of these products yet, but this soap smells amazing! There is definitely a powdery hint with some floral but it is not at all overpowering like a lot of floral scents can be. There are other hints of things but I can't totally put my finger on what they are but it's amazing! I can't wait to try this out.
This says, "The baby powder-scented fabric deodorizer is the most popular of the Consensus series. When applied on fabric, it will deeply penetrate into the fabric and effectively remove 99% of germs and molds causing the stench.
How to use: Twist open the lid ON and spray it 20-30cm away from the targeted fabric. It's more effective with daily uses."
This is a deluxe sample, 30ml - the full size is 330ml and costs $7!
This smells like baby powder; I'm wondering if it's safe for use on pet beds and whatnot because this would be great for furniture pets are on often.... Hmmmm!
The description, "This highly moist Lailly 7 Seconds Make-up Booster contains aronia ingredients for boosting up your skin without being oily or sticky and getting your skin even-toned and well tendered for a long-lasting base makeup.
How to use: After skincare procedure, apply the booster evenly over your face and let it absorb into the skin, moisturizing and evening our your complextion."
This is the full size. It costs $40.
This comes with a plastic safety seal, I removed it for the initial photo but I loved that was on so you know it hasn't been tampered with.
It's an interesting light blue-ish color and it smells like sunscreen. A scent I absolutely love but I know a lot of people dislike so it's something to consider. The ingredients are all in Korean and not included on the sheet you get (probably my biggest complaint, I prefer being able to see the ingredients) but it's safe to say there is definitely some amount of SPF in here. The toss date is 24M after opening.
I'm looking forward to trying this!
The description, "Happy Fam Deo Fresh tissue with its powder formula allows you to quickly and easily refresh your sweaty, smelly under-arms throughout the daytime.
How to use: Take out a Deo Fresh tissue from its packaging and gently swipe it under-arms in-between breaks."
Well...... That should be what deodorant is for...... Yeah. No. This product grosses me out. Why you'd need wipes for your underarms throughout the day is beyond me. I wish something else was included in this box.
Anyways, this is the full size. You get 20ea for $2.
So there is my Memebox! This box costs $15.
Here is a promo code if you are interested in trying out Memebox!
Valid until the end of July: IJ05OD
*Some products from these boxes are for sale individually on the site, others aren't available - but you can contact Memebox and they will try to get it for you!
Overall, I enjoyed this. It was fun to check out products from another country. I do wish it came with more, and that one product was a huge disappointment but I would absolutely be open to trying Memebox again. These beauty boxes are too fun!
