August 2014 Favorites:

"Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

- Alice in Wonderland

Hello, beauties! Can you believe tomorrow is September?! This month has been a busy one - good busy! I found myself reaching for my typical staples: my Covergirl & Revlon foundation mix, MUG eyeshadows, nude lips... But there are a few favorites I wanted to share with you! Let us know your August Favorites in the comment section below!

We'll start with my one skin care favorite:

IMG_3110Tea Tree Oil. I use this daily! My skin has been on a rampage this month and Tea Tree Oil is always a lifesaver. In the mornings I use it as a toner (always dilute with water!) and I also use it as a spot treatment for breakouts.

Tea tree oil can be used for tons of different things but it is a perfect alternative to chemical/harsh treatments for acne. It's antiseptic, anti-microbial and an anti-inflammatory.

I haven't found a favorite brand yet, this one I picked up at a random vitamin store.. I believe it was around $8.

Along with the tea tree oil for my breakouts, It Cosmetic's Bye Bye Redness has been a huge help..

IMG_3104This is a red-neutralizing and correcting cream. I put this over any blemishes and redness before I apply my foundation and it helps tone everything down and even out my skin more.

IMG_3105It comes in only one shade and it's very thick so you need just a tiny amount. I do think this breaks me out so I try not to use it all the time but on bad skin days, I grab this before anything else.

It Cosmetic's Bye Bye Redness is $32 - available on It Cosmetics site and Ulta.

MAC's Rosy Outlook, Cantaloupe & Melba:

I'll just post the pans & swatches here, check out my most recent MAC haul for more info on these!

MAC blush pan refills are $17-$19.

Loreal's Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara:

IMG_3099This mascara is wonderful and the brush is fantastic. It's not too wet but not overly dry, it doesn't smudge or flake off. I use this on both my upper and lower lashes,  the brush gets deep into the lashes and it's small enough to get right in those lower ones and coats them really well.

There is a few versions of the telescopic mascaras, this is the first I've tried and I definitely want to try the others!

Loreal's Telescopic Mascara is around $7-8 at the drugstore.

NYX's Wonder Pencil in Light:

IMG_3087This is a multi-purpose pencil for concealing, lining or brightening. You can use this on your waterline for that beautiful but natural brightening effect to the eyes, as a spot concealer or what I love to use it for, cleaning up your lip-line after applying darker lipsticks!

IMG_3093It's very creamy and easy to apply, pretty long lasting as well. I'm not a huge fan of using concealer for my lips or brows so I always grab this to ensure my lipstick is on perfectly and to clean up the edges.

NYX's Wonder Pencil comes in three different shades and is $4.49 at, Ulta and select CVS stores.

Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray:

IMG_3084I ran out of my ELF setting spray (absolutely LOVE that - pretty much a drugstore version of this) so I randomly found this in my makeup kit and decided to fill up this travel size and replace it with the bigger bottle in my kit. I leave this travel size on my vanity and set my makeup with it every day. As I said above, there is absolutely a drugstore version but I do love this and it works. Setting sprays are essential on those hot summer days!

Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray is $14 for this 1oz bottle and $30 for the 4oz bottle. Avaliable on UD's site, Ulta and Sephora.

I have been LOVING my Sigma brushes. Here are three of my favorites..

Sigma's Tapered Kabuki F86:

IMG_3068I love the Tapered Kabuki brush for blending out concealer under my eyes. It's so densely packed and soft! Excuse mine for being dirty - it's very loved! :)

The F86 is $24.

Sigma's Tapered Highlighter F35:

IMG_3073The Tapered Highlighter is amazing for applying highlighters to your cheekbones and any other areas you want to highlight. This is so soft! I also love how quickly this dries whenever I'm washing my brushes.

The F35 is $24.

Sigma's Tapered Blending E40:

IMG_3080The Tapered Blending brush is amazing for any crease work, it builds up color and blends it out beautifully.

The E40 is $16.
